Marc Morale is an experienced construction professional in the Chicago area. Following 12 years as a project manager at Epic Construction in Chicago, he assumed an ownership role with Frankfort’s Hamilton Construction Inc. An ordained minister and avid scuba diver and underwater photographer, Marc Morale is qualified to conduct underwater weddings.
An underwater wedding is exactly what it sounds like: an otherwise traditional wedding ceremony that takes place entirely beneath the water’s surface. They are perfect for adventurous couples interested in a unique, highly memorable wedding experience. That said, underwater weddings require a fair amount of preparation. For starters, any individual involved in the ceremony will be required to wear a mask or scuba-diving gear. While these ceremonies are likely to take place in calm, relatively shallow waters, couples should still take a few scuba lessons in order to ensure their comfort and safety. However, venues that specialize in underwater weddings sometimes provide special helmets that require almost no training. Diving slates are typically used over the course of a ceremony so that couples can exchange vows. More ambitious couples might consider using an underwater audio system or diving masks equipped with communication units. Underwater weddings are held all over the world. A few examples of popular destinations for these celebrations include Polynesia’s Bora Bora Lagoon, Grand Bahama Island, and Hawaii.
